Will the MAP help with my (Insert your symptom here)?
The MAP is an evaluation process that identifies primary imbalances in your biochemistry that is most likely at the root cause of your symptoms or why you feel the way you do. If you’re not experiencing a particular symptom, The MAP will the identify imbalances that could eventually lead to an undiagnosed symptom or set of symptoms. The personalized recommendations you receive in your evaluation report are designed to repair the primary imbalance(s). The MAP is NOT a diagnostic tool. It will not diagnose a particular condition or disease.
What is your refund policy?
We want our clients to be happy! So, if in the first 30 days after submitting your samples and receiving back your MAP report, you decide that it’s not for you, or that you’re not happy with any part of your experience with our company, we’ll refund the full cost of the MAP less the small shipping charge. We’re serious about this! If you’re not happy we’ll refund your money! Please send your refund request to our client services team by clicking here.
Is the MAP covered by my insurance?
We are an out-of-pocket service provider. Due to new insurance billing and coding procedures, we are unable to provide you with a any diagnosis, documentation or reimbursement codes for any services delivered by Optimal Wellness Labs or Dr. Dicenso. In order to seek reimbursement for any services provided by us, you should consult your provider about qualifying expenses and procedures. We regret that the recent changes in the health care law has caused this inconvenience for you.
Why does The MAP use urine and saliva as a way to evaluate optimal health?
An evaluation of your urine is how The MAP determines your body’s ability to eliminate waste properly. Your body’s ability to eliminate waste effectively could be the result of a digestive imbalance. Improperly digested food moves through the body much slower than completely digested food and can create a nutrient deficiency. The increased production of waste product, poor elimination of the waste and the nutrient deficiency leaves the body less capable of pulling waste products out of their storage areas and into the kidneys for elimination. Urine tells us what is being produced, what is being eliminated and how well the kidneys are doing their job.
Saliva is specific to the digestive system and the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is the body’s ‘garbage disposal’. Before any waste product produced by your body gets to the liver or the kidney, it has to pass through the lymphatic system. If the lymphatic system is not functioning properly then nutrients get trapped in the saliva. This deprives your body access to these nutrients and is reflected in the PH of the saliva. Saliva PH measures the health of your digestion system and is shown on the colored graph in your MAP evaluation report.
Does The MAP require a blood sample?
The MAP does not require a blood sample.
How are you able to evaluate blood if I did not provide a sample?
Because of the uniqueness of our software, The MAP is able to produce a reading for RH, pH and resistivity –the basic biochemical components The MAP examines.
Will my samples spoil during shipping if I live outside of North America?
The specialized packaging used to transport your samples to our lab for processing is designed to preserve the integrity of the fluids. In addition, the software we use to evaluate your fluids will tell us if your fluids have been compromised in any way. In the unlikely event your samples have been compromised during the transport process, we will notify you and replace your kit at no charge.
What is the investment in The MAP evaluation process?
Investment in The MAP is $397.00. You can either pay the full amount at the time of purchase, or you can split the investment up into 2 payments. The first payment is made at the time of purchase and the 2nd payment is made 30 days later.
Are private consultations available with someone from your team to review my MAP results?
Yes. We encourage all of our clients to take advantage of a one-on-one private consultation with one of the practitioners on our team to review your evaluation results. The value of the private consultation is to dive deeper into what your specific evaluation identified and what the detailed set of recommendations is intended to do. The cost of a private consultation is $197 and you can either purchase it at the time of your initial MAP order or by contacting our support team by clicking here.
Does the cost of the MAP include a follow-up evaluation?
Because many clients don’t require or request a 2nd MAP evaluation as they progress through their MAP recommendations, we do not bundle a follow-up evaluation along with your initial investment. Please keep in mind that we can’t overstate enough the value of a 2nd evaluation, which we typically suggest about 12 weeks into the program. We’ll even send you a reminder along the way.
Why is the investment of a follow-up MAP evaluation the same as the investment in the first one?
In order for us to produce your 2nd set of MAP recommendations with precision, we evaluate your 1st set of MAP results and recommendations, plus the additional information you provide for us in the updated health questionnaire submitted with your 2nd set of samples, plus your 2nd set of MAP results. Taken together, this process significantly increases the amount of time for our team to produce your second set of recommendations. Your 1st set of MAP results establishes your ‘biochemical baseline’; and your 2nd set of results from the follow-up MAP carries additional value in that we can evaluate what is changing over time and the affects of the first set of recommendations in your body. Despite the additional value to you of the follow-up evaluation, and the additional time required on our end, we has chosen to keep the investment the same for the follow-up evaluation.
I don’t have my kit /results yet so why should I attend the “Ask Dr. D.” call?
Even if you have not yet received your MAP evaluation results back from our lab, we highly encourage you to attend the weekly “Ask Dr. D. Call”. This weekly live call is in a ‘question and answer’, call-in format similar to a radio show; and is an excellent way to understand The MAP evaluation process and how it relates to your health. Even if you don’t have a question to ask, you can listen in on what other clients are asking about their evaluation, their symptoms, or any of The MAP recommendations. Each week we’ll email you a reminder about the call so you can register. Our clients consistently tell us that the weekly “Ask Dr. D. Call” is one of the most valuable parts of their experience with us. Please plan to attend one of these calls.
What does the biological age calculation really mean?
Your biological age is a reflection of the rate at which your cells have been aging. So, even if you feel healthy today, you may have underlying metabolic imbalances that are at work to accelerate the aging process.
Here’s how it works. Your cell’s aging is a direct reflection of your body’s efficiency with its complex job of digestion and elimination, even at the cellular level. The biochemistry is complex and there are many opportunities for imbalances. If there have been problems over time in your metabolism, toxic waste can build up and can harm your cell’s ability to produce new proteins.
With even a slightly diminished ability to create new proteins, there is a cyclical impact on cellular function – one that accelerates the aging process.
The good news is that while your chronological age is fixed (you can’t change when you were born) your biological age can be changed. The goal of the protocol offered from the analysis of your biological fluids using The MAP is to repair any of these metabolic imbalances. Once these imbalances have been addressed you should begin to experience normalized cellular function. As that happens, there can be a slowing down of the aging process, and your biological age can begin to approach your chronological age.
We do want to caution you that The MAP is not a “fountain of youth.” Following your MAP protocol should help you to address the metabolic imbalances that you have developed over the years. When those imbalances are reversed, you should begin to feel better, and your biological age should begin to decrease. But, you have to actually take the steps in the protocol to make these changes in your body. If you choose to ignore this protocol, we can safely predict that your biological age will continue to be years ahead of your chronological age, no matter how well you feel.
Many MAP clients that have followed their protocol, and have checked in for a second and third MAP evaluation have seen their biological age decrease, and report an overall feeling of better well-being.
“I just wanted to thank everyone at Optimal Wellness for all the great work you’ve done. I’ve been very happy…I’m on my 3rd protocol now and my biological age has come down 19 years” - Stephen
